The customs cut-off time , also known as the release note cut -off time or the customs clearance deadline, is an important concept in international trade transportation. It refers to the latest cut-off time that the goods must be handed over to the designated port or CFS for shipment to be on board, that is, the deadline by which the goods must complete the customs clearance and submit the customs release note to the shipping company. If the goods fail to complete these procedures before the customs cut-off time , the shipping company will regard the goods as not being cleared and released, and will not allow them to board the vessel.
